1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using BillBuddies ("the App", "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and BillBuddies ("we", "us", or "our").

2. Description of Service

BillBuddies is a personal finance tool that helps users track shared expenses, split costs among friends and groups, and record payments made to settle balances. The Service is a record-keeping application only.

Important: BillBuddies is not a bank, payment processor, money transmitter, or financial institution. We do not hold, transfer, or process any actual money. All amounts displayed are records entered by users and do not represent real-time account balances or legally enforceable debts.

3. Account Registration

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• You must provide accurate and complete information when registering
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use BillBuddies only for lawful, personal expense-splitting purposes. You must not:

• Use the Service for commercial debt collection or to pursue legally enforceable claims
• Enter false, misleading, or fraudulent expense records
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international laws
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
• Transmit any malware, viruses, or other harmful code

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the content you enter into BillBuddies (expense descriptions, group names, etc.). By entering content, you grant us a limited license to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your group members.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the financial data you enter. We do not verify, audit, or validate any amounts, descriptions, or splits you record.

6. Friend Invitations

When you invite someone to BillBuddies by email, you confirm that:

• You have a legitimate relationship with the recipient
• You are not sending unsolicited commercial communications
• You will not use the invitation feature to spam or harass people

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BillBuddies and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Any disputes between users regarding shared expenses or payments
• Financial losses arising from reliance on data recorded in the app
• Loss of data due to technical failures (though we take reasonable precautions)
• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages of any kind

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8. Account Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, all your personal data, expense records, and group memberships will be permanently removed.

By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or are inactive for an extended period. We will provide reasonable notice where practicable, except in cases of serious violations.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email (at the address on your account) at least 30 days before the changes take effect. The updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
