Delete Your Account
You can permanently deactivate your BillBuddies account and remove your personal information at any time. Choose the method that works best for you.
Delete from the mobile app
- Open BillBuddies on your phone.
- Go to the Account tab.
- Scroll to Delete Account and tap it.
- Confirm twice — the account is deleted immediately.
Delete from the website
- Sign in to your BillBuddies account.
- Open the Account page.
- Click Delete Account at the bottom and confirm twice.
Can't sign in? Email us
If you've uninstalled the app or can't access your account, email us and we'll delete it for you within 30 days.

Include the email address or phone number associated with your account so we can verify ownership.
What happens when you delete your account
Deleted immediately
- Your name, email, and phone number
- Your password (cannot be recovered)
- Your friend connections
- Pending friend invitations you sent
- Your ability to sign in
Retained (anonymized)
- Expense records shared with other users
- Settlement records with other users
- Group membership history
These are kept so your friends' balances remain correct. Your personal details are removed — the records show only "Deleted User" in their place.
Account deletion is immediate and permanent when done through the app or website. Email requests are processed within 30 days. Once deleted, your account cannot be restored — you will need to register again with a new account if you wish to return.
